Overview
Manufacturers who
use re-usable containers to ship products to their customers or loan
these containers to their suppliers to supply raw materials often find
that these containers are either lost or "over-due" containers are
never returned. Due to lack of visibility of these containers,
companies are unable to charge their customers or suppliers a late fee
for the containers that they did not return. In addition, they also
have to procure new containers to keep their operations running
smoothly. The problem gets even more complex when there are multiple
locations that cater to a large customer/supplier base and a company has an
existing system that is not capable of:
- Tightening asset controls and accountability
- Auditing containers and inventory in real-time and tracing its
movement
- Streamlining the container's receipt and return processes
Solution
KeyTone's
Reusable Container Tracking Solution increases container circulation
rates by:
- Providing real time visibility of all containers that have been "loaned"
to suppliers/customers, containers that have been returned and
current in-hand container inventory.
- Lowering container search times by enabling operators to locate
any misplaced containers quickly.
- Controlling container movement violations and exceptions through
alerts and notifications.
Companies can extend the solution to gain granular visibility at
the process level by simply adding additional read points within their
production or distribution processes. KeyTone's container tracking
dashboard provides visibility as the container moves from one process to the
other, empowering supervisors to eliminate bottlenecks, improve
quality and production velocity.
Reports
KeyTone provides operational business intelligence for container
tracking through a web based dashboard and many pre-defined
reports.

all container assigned by company to its suppliers/customers in a
given period
- Container Check-in/Check-out Report - Provides
list of all containers that were checked in or out for a given
time period by suppliers/customer
- Order-To-Container Receipt Report - Provides a
list of all the containers received or shipped against a given
order for a given time period
- Container Utilization Report - Provides the
overall container usage based on user defined criteria
- Container Reconciliation Report - Provides all
the containers loaned versus all the containers received by a
given supplier for a given time period along with aging summary.
